I installed the Polaris pump over the weekend and it's working great. Runs quietly and provides the Polaris sweep with plenty of pressure.The pump comes with a 4 foot length of plastic hose and 4 plastic connectors that are very handy if you are replacing an old pump. The original connectors on my old pump were very brittle and cracked while I was disconnecting the hoses. Hose connections: Make sure you have a tube of silicone grease to lube the threads of the plastic connectors before you screw them into the pump. Makes future disassembly much easier. Also, the hoses slide over the prongs of the plastic connectors a lot easier if you use plenty of lube on them. Electrical: A removable access plate at the motor end of the pump reveals the electrical connections. Document which wire goes where before you unplug everything. Two bladed connections - 1 positve, 1 negative; and 1 screw down connection for the ground wire. If you are disconnecting an old... Most installations for these types of systems are usually under the kitchen sink, but I feel it is better if one has the option to locate it somewhere like the basement or a closet/pantry near the kitchen sink (filter replacement can be difficult if located in cramped quarters). I live on a farm in North Dakota and the well water we use is OK for bathroom/laundry/kitchen use, but the taste is a bit on the alkaline side.
